This is the Sons of Horus room and will be used in this guide as an example, representing a typical Horus Heresy unit pack. Once you have the unit pack room loaded, you will be presented with something similar to the view shown below.Īs you can see, there's a lot of models. Once you are in the Games window that appears after this, select the Workshop option and then whichever unit pack you want to use.

To do this follow these steps and select the Create button.įollowing this, navigate through the windows that appear, selecting Singleplayer. To start building you will need to create a room using one of these unit packs. To build your army you will need to have downloaded a unit pack (see the list above). Once you have an army list created it'll be much easier to assemble your army in Tabletop Simulator, as you can work through your list and check units off as you add them to your army. Information about these can be found in the Roster Creations Tools page of the wiki. This can range from using a simple pen and paper, an Excel Spreadsheet or specialised roster creation software. Before you start assembling your army in Tabletop Simulator, you need to put together your army list using whatever method best suits you. This step may be self-explanatory, but to the newer members of the Horus Heresy community it's a vital step.
This is essentially a saved item consisting of all the models you want to field which you can spawn into any room (provided you have the necessary permissions to spawn items). Tabletop Simulator refers to these as Rooms, and for the purpose of clarity we will refer to maps as Rooms from now on.īefore you can play any games of the Horus Heresy, you will need to create an object for your army.

Now that you have found the unit pack(s) you want, you will also need to download a map to play on. In addition, there is a unit pack for every Legiones Astartes faction in the Horus Heresy, however these models are in epic scale so will need to be scaled up accordingly.

To unlock it, right click on it again and navigate into the Toggles option and select Unlock. To lock a model, right click on it, navigate into the Toggles option and select Lock. Once a model is locked in place, physics no longer effects it and it is immune to being selected with either a left click or the drag-select method. To support this, you can lock models in place. Sometimes you will need to place a model in a precarious place, or place objectives down without wanting them to be constantly moved or under threat of accidental deletion. Please Note: Any model selected or hovered over will be deleted when you hit the Delete key - be careful! Shortcut You can also delete models by hovering over them or selecting them and pressing the Delete key. The shortcuts for these are listed below. Drop will force the model to the lowest point of the table it can reach where it is, which can be very helpful when trying to get models into ruins or multi-level buildings. Flip essentially flips the model upside-down, which is very handy when representing a tank that has been wrecked or something similar. When handling models in Tabletop Simulator, sometimes you will need to use two different tools for them flip and drop. Please Note: The camera is treated as a pseudo-physical object, so will be obstructed by certain objects such as tables, terrain and other "solid" object, so this may affect certain camera angles when trying to view from a models perspective. Once you are familiar with those basic camera controls, you'll be able to view any part of the room from any angle.

The following table shows how to control the camera whilst playing a game or building your army in any room whilst using Tabletop Simulator. To be able to play games in Tabletop Simulator, you need to be able to control your camera in order to view the board, navigate to where dice are being rolled or to get line of sight from a models perspective for lining up a shooting attack.
